ABIA Executive Issues Forum May 14-15, 2012 at the Washington DC, JW Marriott Hotel
Join fellow ABIA members, bank-insurance CEOs, senior executives and program managers for the first-ever ABIA Executive Issues Forum in Washington, D.C. The Forum is an exciting opportunity to leverage collective expertise on how to manage the unique regulatory and legislative challenges facing bank-owned insurance businesses.

On May 14, attendees will participate in briefings with industry experts and roundtable discussions on key industry issues, including:

     • Federal Insurance Office (FIO) implementation: how will the FIO's recommendations for modernizing the state system of insurance regulation change insurance distribution and how will state laws change if FIO uses its preemption authority to implement international agreements?   
     • Volcker Rule Competitive Disparity: What can insurers do that banks cannot?
     • CFPB authority over insurance, including Debt Protection Products and Lender-Placed Insurance; and
     • NAIC Panel of Experts on federal issues such as flood insurance (NFIP), NRRA and the future of state regulation and cooperation with the FIO.

We'll also hear from keynote speaker Charlie Cook, NBC News and National Journal political analyst; editor and publisher, The Cook Political Report, and political oracle as he offers his perspective on the upcoming elections. 

On May 15, a breakfast briefing will be followed by advocacy initiatives on Capitol Hill, as participants bring their perspectives - and united voice - to lawmakers and their staff.
